GRANDFATHER'S BOX
His late grandfather, John Scatliff, once built him a wooden box for the Olympic medal he always believed his grandson would win. He achieved this with a silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games. "My grandfather would pick me up during lunch breaks at St. Andrew's school and take me down to Elk Lake for a quick row," he said.
