Injuries

He contracted food poisoning during the 2004 World Championships in Verona, Italy and as a result required an operation in a Belgian hospital to unblock his intestine in October 2004. He lost three kilogrammes and his mother said he looked 20 years older. (Het Laatste, 26 Oct 2004)
