He has only completed two years of his degree after he decided to move to the Netherlands to play volleyball full-time and give himself the best chance of making London 2012 with Team GB. He said: "It has been a big step up for me and the opposition has been a lot harder but I have learnt as much in this one season as I have done all seasons before this." (independent.co.uk, 27 Feb 2012, morethanthegames.co.uk, 06 May 2011)
PERFORMER
Away from volleyball his passion is acting and being on stage, and he also has his own website. He has performed comedy at the Theatre Royal and even got involved in writing a script for the English Channel Four show, Skins, after getting involved with Talawa's Writers Group. He said: "When you're playing sport you're in your own zone and totally focused, so you don't pay much attention to the audience, but when you're performing comedy you have to interact with the crowd and win them over, which is never easy." (independent.co.uk, 27 Feb 2012)
