2008 GAMES
He was suspended in 2008 for four months when Capsaicin was discovered in his mount, Coster, at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. It was a reduced suspension due to his previous clean record in such matters and the fact that Capsaicin is used for various legitimate therapeutic reasons. The ban was later extended to eight months upon an appeal by the German Equestrian Federation to the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS].
