What are NOCs and NPCs?

National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) are the national organisations responsible for the selection, preparation and management of their respective teams.

The NOC for Great Britain is the British Olympic Association, the NPC is the British Paralympic Association.

National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee relations

Planning is already underway to ensure the 2012 Games are a great experience for those taking part.

We have established a team to liaise with National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and National Paralympic Committees (NPCs).

They are currently developing the Pre-Games Training Camps Guide – which will showcase UK-wide training facilities for all NOCs and NPCs.

This will be launched at the Beijing 2008 Games. Over 600 high quality facilities from across the UK have been selected to appear in the Guide.

The London 2012 NOC and NPC Relations team will play a central role in ensuring the training camps are fit for purpose.

There will also be funds available to each NOC and NPC to contribute to the use of approved Pre-Games Training Camps.

LOCOG has already hosted a number of NOC and NPC visits and looks forward to hearing from any other NOCs and NPCs which would like to visit London and meet with colleagues at LOCOG.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss a potential visit. Read the guidelines for NOCs and NPCs which would like to visit London (PDF, 34kb).

Finally, London 2012 has recently relaunched our regular newsletter to NOCs and NPCs – ‘Update’.

Three times a year, ‘Update’ brings you the latest news from the London 2012 Sports department.

You can download the latest copy from the Newsletters section.

For more information contact Rachel Dickson, Interim NOC and NPC Relations Manager, who reports to Director of Sport, Deborah Jevans.
