Well here I am in my second rotation in the CCE department and what a fun time I am having! I am the new Nathan in the Education team (as everyone describes me) even though I think we look slightly different.I have already spotted one large difference bet
I am also going to have the chance to take part in the ‘Welcoming the World’ project helping with workshops in secondary schools around the five host boroughs. I have a very sporting background as I have been a dancer since I could practically walk and within school I think I took part in nearly every sports club going. As I grew up in the school I noticed less and less children were actually taking part in sport. I therefore turned to sports coaching and have since done a lot of volunteer sports coaching and teaching with Primary and Secondary Schools around my borough of Waltham Forest. When at sixth form all of the sports coaching I did was run by the Youth Sport Trust (YST) who try to promote young people teaching other young people. I always enjoyed all of my coaching and Andy Martin, who is seconded to London 2012 from YST has now got me in contact with them again and I am actually going to be attending their next conference in Telford this week and presenting in front of many head teachers. This will be an absolutely amazing experience for me but also quite scary. Erin, the Education Coordinator, will be attending Telford with me but has already said she will not be able to watch my speech in case I make her cry!
Hopefully this is just the beginning of a very important yet fun few months in the Education team, and I look forward to all the time I spend here!
