I sit on the Olympic Stadium Advisory Panel so I know the level of detail that goes into creating an Olympic Stadium. As an athlete it is so important that the areas that don’t get seen by the spectators are properly planned.

Normally I arrive at a Stadium about two and a half hours before my event starts so it is vital that the warm-up and changing facilities are good and that we can get into the Stadium easily to compete. These things sound simple but it is this attention to detail that makes the difference for us athletes on the day.

There is real excitement among the athletes about the Games in 2012, especially the younger guys - we feel like it is our Games.
