I left the venue in a very positive frame of mind. ExCeL, the Boxing venue in 2012, is ideally poised to take advantage of the passionate and knowledgeable local boxing audience in East London – as seen and heard at the weekend.
With up to 30 sessions of boxing over 16 days in the 10,000-capacity hall, there will be plenty of chances to impress a new audience as well. Plenty more people are likely to be knocked out by the action, like Alex.
Add to that the interest that will be generated by having the best boxers from up to 100 countries competing in the capital, and I am confident that we will have a truly memorable festival of boxing come 2012.
