It has been a whirlwind time since the BET team began in early June and significant progress has been made during that time. Most recently during this week we hit the 2,000 mark in terms of contract opportunities posted onto CompeteFor. Those opportunities have come from 180 different buying organisations within the London 2012 supply chain. There is certainly a growing community within the portal and we continually strive to bring new buyers, supply chain business and purchasing professionals on board and prove that CompeteFor is the place to find the most comprehensive list of London 2012 contract opportunities and suppliers in the UK.
Another area we have focused on is providing a wide range of contracts both in terms of value and sector. This gives access to small low value contracts all the way up to large multi-million pound contracts and covering all sectors from Construction, Design, Food and Drink, Media, Consultancy and I.T, for example. Evidence of this success can be highlighted from the recent range of contracts being from website builds to stationary supplies to plant hire to limestone blocks to design of the London 2012 mascot and even an ice ream van!!!!! These all being requirements of supply chain businesses to fulfil contracts won through CompeteFor.
We will continue to work with purchasing staff of all organisations in the London2012 supply chain to maximise the opportunities out there and significant players we are in discussion with at present are Transport for London, Westfield Shoppingtowns, Visit London and Carillion who are all currently piloting the use of CompeteFor. This, coupled with the ongoing relationship with early adopters of CompeteFor such as Balfour Beatty, Edmund Nuttalls, HSS Hire, Event Management Systems, Speedy Hire and GAP Plant Hire will only continue to see the number of opportunities for all suppliers expand.
Rest assured the BET team are continually looking to maximise the number of opportunities for suppliers to compete and win new business through London2012.
