A quick go on the rowing machine along with a hand-eye co-ordination test on the 'batak' kept me busy whilst the attending photographers took some great shots. I was also lucky enough to speak with some local media to explain how excited I am about the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It’s a chance for all Londoners to get involved, whether as a volunteer, local business or sportsperson.
I was delighted to see some of Haringey’s top young athletes come down on the day to find out more information. From Tennis to Basketball, there is real hope that these individuals will actually be participation in the 2012 Games. There are lots of sporting initiatives in Haringey that will make sure they get the best support possible.
There was also a dash of music at the event with the competition semi-finals to perform at the London handover celebrations this summer. It may have been a cold windy morning but that didn’t stop the groups from giving it their all. I wish Nathalie Nahai the best of luck in the final on 6 April.
