Next comes the technical get-in, later in the week we’ll see our screens and PA being installed whilst the BBC trucks will roll up with all the broadcast equipment. In 24 hours, they’ll turn the site into a live broadcast base ready for rehearsals. Meanwhile, the finishing touches will be applied with the hoisting of the specially-created London 2012 flags all down The Mall and the installation of our branding across the site.
So, keep your eyes on the weather forecast, watch the seaweed in the porch and think of all the people who are getting us ready for the great day this Sunday when we celebrate as London becomes Host City - not just on The Mall but all over the UK too at the 215 or more events now listed on our database.
If you want to be part of it - watch our celebrate video and share your celebrations with us. The best will be shown on big screens around the UK.
There’s Handover Flags galore, we’re singing all over the UK at the Live Sites, where the local cities are creating their own local celebrations, and there’ll be 40,000 people or more in front of Buckingham Palace ready to party!
