This morning we started raising special Handover Flags along The Mall, ahead of the Visa London 2012 Party to mark the moment we become official host to the Summer Olympic Games.
It's very unusual for any flag apart from the Union Jack to be raised on The Mall: we also managed to do it during the bid for the Games.
On Sunday, 24 August, The Mall will welcome around 40,000 people, performers including Will Young, Heather Small, Katherine Jenkins and Il Divo, plus some very special guests.
If you don't have a ticket to event you'll be able to watch it on one of our giant screens across the UK. It's also being broadcast live on BBC One and Radio 2. Coverage of all the Closing Ceremony - including our Handover segment - starts from 1pm.
