Also, with January 2008 being the start of an Olympic year, the event was a great opportunity to communicate what has been achieved so far and also to take stock of how far we have to go with building the Olympic Park, organising the Games and the Legacy for East London. The evening was a great success: although the bell rang for a vote, our guests rushed out, but the vast majority returned. They clearly didn’t want to miss out on the action. It was fantastic to see so much support for the project right across the political spectrum.
