I can't believe it's been two years since the first version. Time is flying by but I am pleased to say that we are making good progress.
My colleagues at the ODA continue their great work on venues and infrastructure - as you can see from the recent Olympic Park video. I am increasingly focused on the 'overlay' at the Games. My team and I are fully engaged with the venues planning, infrastructure and design teams, influencing the development and procurement of the numerous items we need at Games time.
Now the report is in out the door I have a moment to reflect and there are a couple of things that come to mind:
- It’s exciting. We really are using the power of the Games to inspire change in both the construction and event industry.
- We are on track. It's a constant challenge but we are setting new standards and creating new benchmarks for delivering the Games.
