Sir Robin Wales, Mayor of Newham
The London 2012 Games help inspire people to set new ambitious targets and really go for them. So many people have already taken up the challenge to gain new skills, jobs and knowledge about other nations. I'm a keen footballer, but the London 2012 Games

If you sign up, you’ll get to enter the Olympic Park close to the Olympic Stadium. For this I would like to thank the London 2012 teams who have made this a reality.

You will also get to see the incredible changes happening in Newham, including the construction of the largest shopping complex in London - Stratford City, the rapidly expanding Stratford Regional Station, the scenic West Ham and Stratford Parks, as well as the newly upgraded Greenway.

Afterwards, why not visit the fantastic, free Sunday Fun Day in Stratford, which was inspired by the Torch Relay visiting Stratford in 2008. There will be loads going on, including free, live music and dance, competitions, sports demonstrations (with a chance to find out about joining sports clubs in your area), street entertainers and lots of fun for younger children.

We are offering free places for the Newham 10k London run to the first 500 Newham residents who email us at run@newham.gov.uk. Otherwise you can enter at www.newhamlondonrun.org. The entry fee is £20.

I'd love to see people from all over the country joining in and getting to see the latest developments on the Olympic Park, and visiting one of the most exciting places to live, work and visit in the whole of London.

So get inspired, get jogging, and come and visit Newham and the Olympic Park on the 7 March.
