As a doctor, I would hope that we could use the Games coming to London for the whole country to have a greater sense of wanting to participate in sport. There’s such a huge following for sport of course but many people think: I’m too old for it, it’s not for me, it’s too expensive, it’s too difficult, it’s too cold or wet outside and that’s not true, sport is for everybody and should be for everybody and hopefully we can get that message out.
Sutton Council is working to really maximise the opportunities that London 2012 can bring to the borough. Everyone has a part to play and can easily get involved. To learn more about what Sutton is doing for the Olympics and Paralympics Games, people should call Sutton council on 020 8770 4414.
