In August 2008, I had my first visit to the Olympic Park. I was invited back this month on a walking tour to view the Olympic Stadium. I was amazed to see how much it had changed in such a short time!
As I walked into the Stadium I could not believe my luck: there I was standing where the track will be laid - it was awe-inspiring. I just had to run (although I did have to ask permission first). I edged back to the start of the 100m and I raced along the track, my heart was pounding but nothing was going to stop this, even the heavy boots I was wearing!
The deep sense of achievement knowing that I was the first person to race on the Olympic Stadium track will last forever.
