Recently I was fortunate enough to spend the morning with some of the London 2012 team, taking a tour of what can only be described as 'the best thing to ever happen to east London'. Not only is the Park going to be an ever lasting legacy to the city afte

I am currently working for a mechanical and electrical company based in London Docklands that has been fortunate enough to have won a contract on the Olympic Village. It seems ironic that my involvement with the London 2012 team since 2005 (as a Youth Ambassador in Singapore) is now spilling over into other parts of my life and I personally am continuously reaping the benefits of winning the Games.

During the bidding process there was huge emphasis on how the Games coming to London was going to help local businesses and local people alike. Living and working in Tower Hamlets I have witnessed first hand the tremendous and very true effects of these promises.

The site looks wonderful already and is coming together at such a pace! With the Aquatics Centre roof already in place, the pool just being dug, the main bridge entrance taking shape and the Stadium towering over the site you can't help but get excited!

For the general public lucky enough to get tickets and athletes fortunate enough to compete here in 2012, this world stage is going to be, and already is for many, something to be immensely proud of.

I look forward to visiting the site in the near future and seeing what progress has been made - not only as a resident of one of the east London host boroughs, but as an employee of a company involved in building what will undoubtedly be a huge stepping stone in making London better.
