What a pleasure - and honour - to be the one presenting our new golden girl, Jessica Ennis, with her World Championship heptathlon gold medal this afternoon in Berlin.

We found out last night that Jessica is not only physcially gifted, she is also mentally forged in the special steel of her home city, Sheffield. Hers was a stunning performance – especially following the year of injury she’s just had.

It creates an extraordinary launch pad for her preparations for the London 2012 Olympics…we’re hoping to see her compete in similarly spectacular style in just under three years.
