I felt a great sense of pride and honour when I saw so many people looking up at me. I was truly proud to be a part of the day’s celebrations. When I introduced myself, the crowd went fanatical and the adrenaline rush I felt was indescribable. My friends and family were there on the day and the response from them afterwards was very positive.
After taking part on stage my family and I watched the rest of the show from the audience. It was great to see all the live acts and there was a real celebratory atmosphere. I believe that the day was a great success. London opened up to the world and welcomed everyone to London in 2012. It was a great day to see how many British citizens supported and welcomed the Games to London. Everyone was smiling and cheering and had a warm glow coming from them which really portrayed London at its best!
