This week saw applications for the Games Maker volunteer programme open to the general public. Up to 70,000 people will be needed to help stage the Games, with roles ranging from athlete escorts to stewards to radio operators.

Members of the Tottenham Hotspur squad took a break from training to take part in Mandeville's blindfold penalty kick challenge.
