The London 2012 Olympic Torch was revealed this week. Its triangular, gold-coloured form is perforated by 8,000 circles representing the 8,000 inspirational Torchbearers that will carry it on its journey across the UK next summer. What do you think?

Members of the Great Britain Goalball and Handball teams also got a chance to try out the newly completed Handball Arena, where they will compete during the London 2012 Games. They were joined by schoolchildren from nearby Gainsborough School for a Handball and Goalball masterclass and exhibition games:

And finally, this week saw the launch of the London 2012 Open Weekend, which will take place between 22-24 July. Over 1,000 unique sporting and cultural initiatives will be taking place over the weekend, helping people across the UK mark 'one year to go' to the start of the Olympic Games.
