Photos of the week: International Paralympic Day
Harley, LOCOG Communications team
Yesterday’s International Paralympic Day provided a blog’s worth of great pics of the week (and then some). The day was jam packed with activities and demonstrations showcasing elite Paralympic sport. A whole host of stars came along to Trafalgar Square t

Among the highlights of the day was a VIP Wheelchair Tennis doubles match... Prime Minister David Cameron taking on Mayor of London Boris Johnson. All very sportsmanlike, of course:

I love this photo from one of the judo demonstrations – you get a real sense of the thrills and spills of the sport:

Athletics rivals Jerome Singleton and Oscar Pistorius were joined on the track by local schoolchildren who (as you would hope) gave it their all!:

Paralympic mascot Mandeville was there too, of course, along with the Sitting Volleyball team who created a new Guinness World Record for passes: 239!

You can see more pics from the day in the image gallery.  Hopefully lots of inspiration for you to apply for tickets to the Paralympics! – you’ve got from now till 6pm on Monday 26 September.

Have a great weekend!
