Olympic gold-medal winner Jonathan Edwards and ODA Chairman John Armitt planted a large 20 year old oak tree in the centre of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Olympic Park Great British Garden with Hannah Clegg (11), who won the young people's section, and Rachel Read, who won the adult category.
The competition was to design the quarter of an acre garden next to the Olympic Stadium.

Here is an artist's impression of how the Olympic Park Great British Garden will look in 2012. You can see from the image above that it's already starting to come together. Come Games time it will be a lovely place to take a stroll.
