Well, if anybody thought that TeamGB’s success was going to be the high watermark of UK sporting success this summer, ParalympicGB are already challenging that notion. The Opening Ceremony in Beijing in Saturday started again with spectacular staging but

I met her two years ago in Sutton Coldfield just before she headed off to the World Disabled Swimming Championships in South Africa. She was certainly determined then and I’m absolutely delighted that all her hard work has paid off on the ultimate stage.

The success of Eleanor and others in ParalylmpicGB is just an amazing taster of what is to come over the coming events in Beijing and in our own Paralympic Games in four years time.
