Talk about coincidences…not only did yesterday mark 1,000 days to go until the Paralympic Games, it was also the day the world celebrates International Day of People with Disability. To top it all off, it also happened to be the day that we revealed the P

But planned for a very good reason as it’s the perfect opportunity to use the power of the Games to inspire change and one of the key ways we can inspire lasting change is by educating the public about Paralympic sports.

There’s going to be a huge interest in the Paralympic Games in 2012, but wouldn’t it be amazing if there was also a great understanding of the sports involved, so that we can create the most exciting build up to the Games ever seen and leave a lasting legacy of awareness and education about these sports?

That’s where pins can help…

Paralympic Pictogram Pins

Pin trading at the Olympic and Paralympic Games has often been described as “the #1 spectator sport of the Games” due to the near-monolithic proportions of pin trading that happens during this time.

The magic of pins during the Games is that they become great conversation pieces that break down cultural and social barriers due to their universal appeal. They are a fantastic way of evoking lasting memories of the Games that will serve as a legacy to the Paralympic sports represented for years to come.

As these pins are traded, so will the stories and experience of those sports be traded, spreading the knowledge not just to those in the stadium but to those watching across the globe.

The Paralympic pictogram pins are a really fun way to educate and spread the understanding of each of the sports, especially for the more complicated sports such as Boccia and Goalball that are designed specifically for disabled people.

So don’t delay…buy yours today and wear your Paralympic pin with pride!
