One very proud dad!

I just wanted to thank you all ever so much for all of the support and good wishes - my daughter Lisa went into the Beijing 2008 Olympics with an aim of getting to the final of the 1,500m and she did it.

It would have been so good for her to come away with a medal, but what will be will be, she has done herself proud and will pick herself up and hopefully come through for the World Championships next year, the Commonwealth Games the year after, then London 2012.

Fourth is always the hardest position to finish in, but I am confident this will make her more determined and hungry for more.

I am glad to be part of the team which is building the London 2012 Olympic Stadium that will host the Athletics, and I can hopefully watch my daughter collect her medal at home in 2012.
