My job as a nurse on the Olympic Park
Felessia, treatment nurse
Hi ya, my name is Felessia and I work at the Park health medical centre. I started here as a treatment nurse in March 2008 and I adore every minute of it. I am a dual qualified nurse with my speciality in emergency nursing. The medical team with ODA Chairm

Coming to construction is a very new experience for me. It is one that I have embraced as it has allowed me to practice my loved profession while providing me with a new challenge, variety of experiences and the opportunity to work with a diverse population.

I consider it a privilege and honour to be a part of this prestigious project here in east London; the building of the Olympic Park. I consider myself a friendly person and I have had the opportunity to meet new people from different career paths and countries.

I enjoy the positive and friendly atmosphere from the security guards, site operatives and all the others I meet out and about on the site. I am also enjoying the team spirit and the increased workload at the medical centre as we are sorting out the medicals for induction for all the new staff coming.

I look forward with great anticipation to seeing the completion of this project. I hope you do too!!!!

Note from the 2012 Editior:

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) recently announced that the highest safety standards are being met on the construction site of the Olympic Park with over two million working hours achieved without a reportable accident.

'Park health medical centre' is where the Olympic Park’s occupational health team are based. The team are responsible for monitoring the health of site workers.
