We then went to visit the Institut Moulay, which is both an elite-training centre and a higher education facility. It's a fantastic sports centre, with great facilities and is clearly going to be a huge asset for upcoming athletes.

At the institute, I met some of Morocco's greatest hopefuls for the London 2012 Games as well as for the Rio 2016 Games. It was great to see them training and speak to some of them about their hopes and dreams for the Games.

I also met of the students studying here who reminded me during my university days – trying to combine studying and training. These students will be a huge inspiration to other young people – some will go on to be athletes, some will go on to be coaches. But whatever they choose to do, sport will clearly have a big impact in their life.

As my week in Africa comes to an end, I've been able to reflect on what sport means to this incredible continent and the opportunities sports can bring. African athletes are amongst the best in the world and for me have always been a huge inspiration.

I'm really looking forward to welcoming them athletes to London this summer and witnessing what I know will be amazing displays of sport.
