As a Kiwi ex-pat working on a British project I have grown to love and support Team GB, ParalympicsGB and even the English Football team.
But there is no team closer to my heart than the mighty All Blacks.
And today... in a very cold park park in Charlton... some of the team came down to open a new adiZone.
I popped down along with another Kiwi colleague to see them in action.
The All Blacks - Richie McCaw, Ali Williams, Ross Filipo, Rodney So'oialo, Joe
Rokocoko and Sitiveni Sivivatu - arrived just as the rain cleared and took some photos with Mayor Steve Offord.
They then enjoyed a brief Haka with some kids from a local rugby club.
There was then a training session on the Olympic Ring-decorated playing area. I think a couple of the kids enjoyed throwing tricky passes at the legendary All Black backs.
Finally, the lads even allowed us to take a couple of snaps - here I am with the amazing Rokocoko.
A truly inspirational day. Not only did I get to meet some personal heroes but I also got to see the adiZone in action.
The zones are a great example of London 2012 inspiring real change - creating exciting community sports facilties.
I hope that the publicity generated by today's visit helps make this location a great success.
