The wall to transform:
Undaunted by this lack of experience and creativity the team split up into two groups to attack the challenge set for us.
One group worked indoors on the centrepiece of the mosaic - the school logo depicting the designs for which William Morris is famous - whilst the other worked outside preparing the setting for the logo.
Working on the mosaic:
Throughout the day the London 2012 team worked closely with members of the student council, helping them to realise their vision for their school environment.
Helping to prepare the wall:
Lunchtime saw some fond reminiscence of school dinners or compulsory milk at break time for some of the team, and an introduction to UK school cuisine for our colleagues from overseas.
Refueled, the team got stuck straight back into the task at hand after lunch and, despite misgivings amongst some of the staff, managed to finish the project ahead of time in the afternoon, meaning that the school caretaker and technology staff could get away on time at 6pm.
We look forward now to going back to visit the product of our work once the pieces of the logo have all been securely set in place and the centrepiece has been installed on the wall next week.
