However, we gradually reached agreement on all the words and phrases and definitions and we started compiling the decision notices. This was a bit of a mammoth task as the notices are very long and have a whole series of annexes.
We didn't quite get to the ' I'm going to throw this computer out of the window' stage but it got close!!
However everything came together on Friday 28th when I was brought the Legal Agreement, duly signed, to inspect and I could then sit down and sign the decisions. There is even a photo of me, pen in hand, to prove it and we then allowed ourselves a very small glass of bubbly to celebrate. After everyone left I had some quiet time to reflect on my own and think about next steps.
In a world of superlatives, the decision notices are pretty long. I wouldn't say they are the longest ever, but at 149 pages for the Site Preparation Application and 168 pages for the Facilities and Legacy Transformation Application they make hefty bedtime reading! They're now on our website for everyone to see and of course that now means another milestone completed for the PDT.
In the next few days we'll be receiving the details for the first of the reserved matters applications as well as lots of documents to start clearing the conditions that have to be approved before the next phase of work on site. So that little pause to reflect late on Friday afternoon was just that, a tiny pause, before getting into gear for the challenges ahead. Life is certainly never dull.
