With the Stadium site changing so rapidly I thought I'd check back to March to pinch myself and remember what the view looked like then. Brace yourself because, like me, you might think you are looking at something else! Beginning of MarchJust over three

Beginning of April

Ah, that looks a bit more like it! You can see the bowl cut at the back of the site and the very first test piling rig in place:



Beginning of May

The damp start to summer meant puddles of water across the site, while activity was gearing up for the official start of construction on 22 May:

Beginning of June

With construction officially underway, the first of three large tower cranes were reaching up to 60m into the magnificently dramatic sky:

Still ahead of schedule

Construction on the Stadium started three months ahead of schedule and if you read this week's news you'll see the fast start continues. In this image, a site worker checks the steel reinforcement that will become one of over 4,000 concrete columns forming the foundations of the Stadium:
