Today marks a major milestone on our journey to London 2012. The official website to register for ticketing news and information is now open. Why is this so significant? Well, we know that there is huge interest in London 2012 tickets. Which also means peo

We want to build on that enthusiasm and encourage everyone to sign up. Then you will be part of the London 2012 ‘fan club’, with access to all the information you’ll need on your journey to London 2012.

You can tell us about your favourite Olympic and Paralympic sports and events and we can start sending you information that is of most interest to you. It also means you will be among the first to find out when tickets go on sale in spring 2011 and how to apply for them.

Our aim is to have full stadia for all sports at both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

We are planning a spectator-friendly competition schedule with shorter, sharper sessions to enable as many people as possible to watch the action. And we will allocate tickets through a fair and inclusive application and ballot process that will make London 2012 everyone’s Games.

There are now 10 million tickets available for both the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games – more than we originally anticipated. We have been able to reach this figure due to the detailed modelling work we have been doing on our venues.

Around 75 per cent of Olympic Games tickets will be allocated to the general public. This will ensure our venues are full of knowledgeable fans, creating an atmosphere to inspire the athletes of the world. We will be able to tell you more about ticket pricing later this year once all our venues and the sports schedule are confirmed.

We also hope that our plans will help to build new audiences for all Olympic and Paralympic sports in future.

So if you haven’t signed up yet, what are you waiting for? And please don’t keep it to yourself – get your family and friends to sign up too!
