Here in Lewisham we are all working really hard in preparation for 2012. On a sporting level we have a whole range of leisure activities taking place both indoors and out. We’re improving all our sports facilities making it easier for people to get active. We’re looking forward to the new leisure centre opening at Forest Hill; we are hoping that the opening will be around mid 2010.

It’s so important for the people of Lewisham and London take part in regular exercise for their health and well-being - we should just get out there and do it! During the period between now and 2012, the borough will also be developing a new pool at Wavelengths Leisure Centre in New Cross, and in Lewisham Town Centre. In addition to this many new sports hall and outdoor sports facilities are being developed in local secondary schools, so watch this space!!!
