In addition to the Discover the Greenway event, the View Tube, a community
activity centre on the Greenway opened its doors for the first time on Saturday afternoon.
The View Tube, run by Leaside Regeneration and funded by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and London Thames Gateway Development Corporation (LTGDC) offers a view of the Park, a drink in the café and a toilet, all of which is very cleverly and sustainably housed in recycled shipping containers.
The View Tube:

I could certainly imagine myself sitting in the café whiling away the hours
watching the Olympic Park being built around me. The second floor viewing
platform offers an additional and dramatic bird’s eye view of the Park.
The Olympic Stadium:

The events on Saturday were very family-oriented with information about the
Olympic Park, the regeneration of the east of London and a ‘Waste Race’ which involved squeezing oranges, dancing with a stranger and writing down your loves and hates.
Activities at the event:

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and I hope that this is just the start of
many future events…
