We have already made great strides in this first year. Important milestones have been met and projects have been completed. Tunnelling for the new DLR Woolwich Arsenal extension is well underway, we have had approval of DLR Stratford International extension TWA, letting of East London Line main construction contract and we have purchased additional DLR trains. The DLR extension to London City Airport, upgrades to the Jubilee Line, Wembley Park and Kings Cross stations all met their deadlines on time and to budget.

After the staff briefing I jumped on the Jubilee Line to Westminster to meet Nick Raynsford, MP for Woolwich and Greenwich. Nick had requested a one-on-one briefing session on the Transport Plan, aiming to give a clearer understanding of the plans and the impact it may have on his constituents.
