Key projects, such as the upgrade work at Stratford Regional Station and the work that has been done on the Orient Way sidings, clearly demonstrate that close working with all our partners delivers success.
But it is not just about east London and the Olympic Park, our work across the whole of the country is just as important. Our improvement work is crucial to getting spectators to the Games on time, as well as keeping the rest of the UK network ticking over normally whilst the Games are in full swing. We will be working with the ODA and the train operating companies to plan the rail network for 2012 so that everybody gets to where they need to be.
I thoroughly enjoyed the trip that highlighted to me the sheer importance of our work not only to the Olympic Park, but the UK as a whole.
