After a packed Friday in Plymouth, I started my own Open Weekend competition today: how many Open Weekend events could I attend in a day?Number 1: Beach volleyball, BMX, netball and much more in Barking town square. Won a lollipop for netball performance.

Number 2: Circus perfoming in Woolwich - where else? I reluctantly refused the opportunity to be the man on the flying trapeze, but my mind has been opened to ceremonies and rehearsing possibilities.

Number 3: I visited the Greenway, right by the Olympic Stadium, and saw the brilliant ways in which the local community can find out about our Olympic Park. My favourite activity was the creative writing. There were some great ideas for our presentations - 'the roof of our pool is really cool'.

Number 4: Horseball in Lea Valley Park. Think rugby sevens on horseback!

Number 5: Hip-hop Shakespeare. I was mesmerised by these performers as they drew out the parallels in terms of rhythm and themes between The Bard and Ms Dynamite.

Just brilliant. Now, can anyone beat five? (I'm guessing Bill might be well on his way)
