Fancy a physical game of chess? Try judo

Judo's such a great sport - it's massively physically demanding, but also mentally challenging. One of the best ways I heard it described was as 'a physical game of chess'. Because there are different weight categories, you can do it no matter what shape

Compared to some Paralympic sports, Paralympic Judo actually gets quite a lot of attention because we're so similar to the Olympic sport - the rules are basically the same, the classifications are simple (just three). So followers of Olympic Judo also follow us. We train alongside the other athletes, we're all friends - it's like a big judo community!

London 2012 is possibly the most exciting thing that's come up in elite sport for a very long time. It's added so much hype, so much focus to what we're doing, to our training. Even for those who don't actually make it to compete in 2012, to be part of all the lead up, to be able to watch team mates at the Games, is massive.

My aim for 2012? I'd like to win another gold! Over the last couple of years I've mastered actually enjoying the sport, instead of just competing, and that's really what made me able to step up another level.

I know there will be lots of pressure for medals from the home team. But I'll just be focussing on making sure I do my best... and my best should get me gold.
