It's my 150th (approximately) Eurovision and my impressions so far are:
Not enough female toilets (unusual for Russia)
A vintage year for shrieking and string instruments. And big hair.
Terrible sound mix in the hall (but ok for you at home?)
And most importantly, very nice bear work. Polar and dark brown. Seriously. Very nice opening montage with a traditional balalaika ensemble covering previous winners - all of which I was able to identify within 2 bars - followed by moonwalking bears.
Alex, 7, is a shrewd analyst. "It's so loud!"
And now we await the results of the hopefully-less-contentious-than-last-year voting process.
