We all met in Stratford and got onto the minibus making our way to the Olympic Park for the last time. I saw a big difference to the whole of the Park, especially the Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics Centre which had started to take shape.
It wasn’t long though before we had to make our way to City Hall for our celebration event. We were the lucky ones as we had a film to show later at the presentations so we could just sit back and relax!
At lunchtime my teacher, my mum (also the Head Teacher!!) arrived with Ruby and Mohammed who will be taking over from me and Coral Leigh as the new Construction Crew members.
The groups all did their presentations and we were all presented with our certificates by Olympic gold medallist, Jonathan Edwards. He showed us how far he had jumped to win his gold medal and he had it with him to show us. (I looked him up on the internet when I got home and watched him do the jump)! When he signed his named on my certificate he wrote how far he jumped, 18.29m, amazing!
The Construction Crew with Olympic gold medallist Jonathan Edwards and ODA Chief Executive David Higgins:
It was then time to go and we got our goody bags which had a London 2012 badge in it, which my mum is very jealous of, and we made our way back to school with just enough time for ice cream.
Thank you for a brilliant year and my mum says don’t forget the tickets for the opening ceremony!!!!!!!
