Updates on the site construction and plans for the future were talked over briefly and then it was down to business - how to become part of it if you are a small business in one of the local 'Host Boroughs' (Hackney, Waltham Forest, Greenwich, Tower Hamlets and Newham).
We shared information about CompeteFor, the supply chain website where London 2012 business opportunities are listed. We talked about the importance of the questions buyers ask. We examined some recent opportunities to make sure that every business in the room felt there was a place for them to take part. We talked about who was doing what and when the right opportunities for them were likely to be advertised.
Then, the really exciting bit, off to the training room where companies were filling the desks, using the PCs and registering on the site. Now there are more good suppliers registered from Hackney. This increases the chance of local businesses really benefiting from everything going on around them. Well done everyone!
