I was really interested to see the work they were doing, wandering up to the offices from the Olympic Park’s South Plaza. I was introduced to Spencer, the Project Manager for the work, and Shane, who gave me a useful and informative site induction. He then took Tony and I out to show us the site of the pump house, and the main vertical pipe above which it will sit. The pipe is absolutely massive! I guess this is the kind of thing you really wouldn’t want to run out of space with.

The new Olympic Park sewage network will link in to the Victorian Northern Outfall Sewer, via the new pump house, again serving as a reminder that this amazing Olympic Park programme is not only about building for the future, it’s also making the best of the past.
