Pre-Games Training Camps
Some of the world's finest athletes will be using UK sports facilities to train in the run-up to London 2012.
LOCOG’s NOC and NPC Services and Relations team manages the day-to-day liaison with the NOCs and NPCs. The team sits within the Sport department and works closely with them to ensure that sport and the athletes' needs are at the heart of everything we deliver.
Regular communication with NOCs and NPCs are through a newsletter – ‘Inform’, which supplements the biannual progress reports. This will provide updates in operational matters from the NOC and NPC Services and Relations team and other departments across LOCOG.
LOCOG has already hosted a number of NOC and NPC visits and looks forward to hearing from any other NOCs and NPCs who would like to visit London and meet with us.
The NOC and NPC Services and Relations team also administers the Pre-Games Training Camp programme, which aims to attract NOCs and NPCs from across the world and direct them to over 600 world-class training facilities across the UK in the run up to the Games in the summer of 2012.
A number of NOCs/NPCs or individual sports teams have reached some form of agreement with a nation or region, city or sporting facility in the UK to state their intentions of holding a Pre-Games Training Camp in that location in the run up to London 2012.
