Paid staff

The London 2012 Organising Committee has developed several programs to assist us to achieve our goal, including:

Attitude over age

The London 2012 Games creates a fantastic opportunity for older and younger people to learn from each other. Our 'Attitude over age' programme is aimed specifically at recruiting older and younger people. Our commitment to recruiting a workforce of all ages is also underpinned by our school leavers and work experience programmes.

>access now

>access now is LOCOG’s recruitment outreach programme for disabled people. Disabled people are traditionally under-represented in sport and in the workforce generally. We wanted to change that and encourage disabled people to apply to us as an employer of choice.

Among other things, we promised to guarantee an interview to all disabled applicants who meet the person specification for a job vacancy and to consider them on merit alone, and to ensure that all employees develop an appropriate level of disability awareness.

>action on inclusion

This is LOCOG's recruitment outreach programme for black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) people. We recognise that BAME people are traditionally under-represented in sporting organisations and we are taking positive action to engage with BAME people and encourage them to apply for paid work with us.

Volunteers

By developing action plans and strong relationships with our 500+ delivery partners, the Diversity and Inclusion team has supported HR in recruiting talented London 2012 volunteers – or 'Games Makers', as we call them – from a diverse range of backgrounds.

For example, a phased application process was developed for disabled people to give them more time to consider their application, and support was provided by our disability delivery partners.
