The LOCOG Diversity and Inclusion team works closely with a number of groups to ensure diversity and inclusion are a key differentiator of our Games, celebrating the many differences among the cultures and communities of the United Kingdom.
Diversity Board
Chaired by LOCOG CEO Paul Deighton, the Diversity Board meets on a quarterly basis and includes both internal and external members. It analyses and, where necessary, suggests improvements on the work performed by the Diversity and Inclusion Team.
Diversity Champions
LOCOG’s Diversity Champions are department Directors. Directors are accountable for ensuring the diversity of their teams. Their hiring records and the composition of their teams are assessed every six months.
London 2012 Equality and Diversity Forum
The London 2012 Equality and Diversity Forum brings together key London 2012 stakeholders with the aim of ensuring that the London Games are the most diverse Games ever. The forum meets every two months to discuss, evaluate and monitor significant London 2012 programmes.
The Access and Inclusion Integration Group
The Access and Inclusion Integration Group was set up to engage interested parties from key organisations involved in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in access and inclusion issues.
LOCOG Diversity and Inclusion Sponsors’ Forum
The LOCOG Diversity and Inclusion Sponsors’ Forum is open to the Heads of Diversity and Inclusion of LOCOG’s commercial partners. The group meets on a quarterly basis to come up with innovative new products and procedures that ensure diversity and inclusion in the run up to London 2012 and beyond.
Working Groups
The LOCOG Diversity and Inclusion Working Groups focus on strand-specific aspects and currently exist for disability, sexual orientation and ethnicity.
