The highlights of this week included the first-ever Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, plus some important milestones for London 2012 venues.

Great progress is being made on the Basketball Arena on the Olympic Park. This picture shows some of the internal and external scaffolding work being done.

Flowing for gold: Water is now flowing at the new Lee Valley White Water Centre, the venue for the London 2012 Canoe Slalom competition, located near Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.

These lucky young journalists, pictured with Seb Coe, are members of the Young Reporters programme at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. The programme provides cross-platform training and on-the-job experience for young people between the ages of 18 and 24. Outstanding candidates will be invited to become members of the LOCOG Press Operations team at London 2012.

On Day 3 of the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, competitors in the Mountain Bike competition make their way up the hills of Tampines Bike Park. I bet there were some beautiful views from the top!
