Today has been full of exciting activities as we celebrate two years to go to the start of the Olympic Games. Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.

Dance group Diversity, volunteering ambassadors, got the London 2012 Games Maker programme off to a great start with an energetic dance routine.

London 2012 Chair Seb Coe and Mayor of London Boris Johnson launched the official volunteer programme today. The search is now on for up to 70,000 London 2012 Games Makers - people who will literally make the Games happen.

To mark two years to go, we opened the London 2012 flagship shop in St Pancras International station. A wide range of merchandise will be on sale, from t-shirts and caps to pin badges and mascot-related merchandise.

Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy rode the first lap of the Velodrome on the Olympic Park. The Velodrome is expected to be completed by the end of the year and - in Chris' opinion - it will be the best one in the world.
Haha, do you really believe an Olympic games would be planned around one group however famous they are?
The Beatles WON us the bid???
Besides that comment above I do think it would be a great idea to have some Beatles music performed, we cant ignore our amazing musical heritage :-)
I am sure that it is no coincidence that the 2012 Olympics actually coincide with 50 years of the Beatles' recording contract, and therefore must surely have attributed to the successful bid. I am therefore certain the world will be disappointed not to hear Beatles' music at the opening ceremony at least.
I am absolutely certain that the world will expect 50 years of the Beatles' recording contract be marked at the Olympics. So therefore Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr must be invited, as well as the widows and family of John Lennon and George Harrison.
There could easily be a Beatles tribute band from just about every country around the globe at the games.
I know that the rest of the world will also expect the Queen's diamond jubilee to also be marked in some way..
