How on earth the Winter Olympics athletes actually do kind of what I do but with skis attached to their feet too is pretty amazing. The take off, height, form and body position are all important. Like with diving, the landing's crucial – not only will you lose points for doing it badly, it can also be really painful if you mess up your timing.
There's also the issue of balancing technical difficulty with execution - the harder the trick you perform, the more points you could potentially get... but only if you do it perfectly. Sometimes it pays to do a slightly easier move but do it brilliantly.
Aerial skiing makes for great watching and I've been tuning in as much as possible (well, in between school, training and competing) to watch them fly.
The Men's finals were last night – Alexei Grishin of Belarus grabbing gold on the last jump. Jeret Peterson of the United States took the silver with his trademark 'hurricane' - he's the only guy who can land a triple back flip with five twists. China's Liu Zhongqing won the bronze.
If you like watching diving you'll like seeing them in action too! Check it out on the BBC website
